POETRY A-Z

Welcome, dear reader, let’s begin :

A loving kiss……:

I speak to you in a handsome voice,
I can’t stand the noise,
I’m scared when you fight,
I’m well when you’re alright.

“Where’s the spinach, I bought it now ?”
“Only Jessie giving it as grass to our cow.”

“It was rotten, so I threw it in the lawn.”
“Cheese n’ popcorn’s gone, what can I say?”
“Ami took it all and ate it right away!!!!”
“Oh, you silly mother, is this a bluff?”
“Oh, my sister, they’ve done this stuff!”
MOTHER: What now do I do?
AUNTIE: Bug ag loogee KAK! (Unknown language for “buy again!”)

E

Nellie, Nellie, where are you?
Oh, we’re playing hide and seek,
run here, run there,
don’t let the cross-boards creak!
“Ha! Mathew, find me, find me!”

Gertie! Wake up!:

“Gertie! Wake up! It’s time for school!
Anna shouted, pausing her video module.
“Yes, I’m awake!” Gertie said, scared.
“You’d wake earlier, if you cared.”
“For what,”said Gertie, rubbing her necklace pearl,
“It’s time for school, you stupid girl!!!!!”
And when she woke, she felt quite well,
for Anna had a lot to tell.

H

Hats & Hates:

I hate my hat! I don’t like it !
It’s not nice! Each bit of it!
“It’s quite cold, “my father said,
I had to wear it, even in bed!
Mother, father, won’t you hear,
how much it crumbles round my ear?

I

“Why” isn’t a nasty question,
it’s used with a thousand words,
some examples are here:
“Why do children play? Why are children lords?”

It’s used while examination,

to solve it, use some explanation,
there are other questions too,
like – “Why eyes in us are two?”

X

My xylophone:

Take 6 pieces of coloured metal,
(each one with a ringing tone),
attach them to a plastic box and take two sticks,
Ah ha!,my xylophone!
I play it now, I play it then ,
no matter how, no matter when!

Y

Yellow hair of the girl I love:

Yellow hair of the girl I love
                                         I love
She goes to S.K. Singham school,
and I love her ; she is so cool!
The only thing I hate of her-
her grumpy parents whom I fear.
I fear how they tend the poor child,
but even to her, they show so wild.
